A week of posts for a farm shop

Seven posts for a farm shop, one a day, with the photo to take, the caption and why it works. Copy them as they are, or let Loudwell write a week like this from your own photos, in your voice.

Half of what's on your shelves came from your own fields or the farm next door, and that's exactly what people say they want. They just don't know you're open on a Sunday, or that the asparagus is in. A week like this tells them.

The week

  1. Monday · Instagram · Photo

Shoot: This week's veg coming in from the field in crates, still with the mud on.

In from the top field this morning. First of the leeks, and the carrots are sweeter after the frost.

Why it works: Freshly picked produce is the whole reason people come to a farm shop, and seasonal news gives them a reason to come this week.

  2. Tuesday · TikTok · Video

Shoot: Ten seconds of the eggs being collected or the milk vending machine filling a bottle.

Where your eggs come from. Collected at 7, on the shelf by 9.

Why it works: The short distance from field to shelf is your best story, and it's easy to show in one clip.

  3. Wednesday · Instagram · Carousel

Shoot: Three photos of local makers' products on the shelf, with one maker in their kitchen if they're happy to be shown.

Everything on this shelf is made within ten miles. The chutney is from Jan in the next village, who's been making it for twenty years.

Why it works: Naming local makers shows you're part of the community, and the makers share it with their own customers.

  4. Thursday · Instagram · Photo

Shoot: The café or the outdoor tables with a pot of tea and a slice of cake.

Tea and a slice of the lemon drizzle after the shopping. The café's open till 4.

Why it works: Many people visit a farm shop as an outing, so showing the café makes it a trip, not a chore.

  5. Friday · TikTok · Video

Shoot: Walking from the car park to the door, past the animals or the fields, fifteen seconds.

This is the walk to our front door. Kids love saying hello to the pigs on the way in.

Why it works: It answers 'what's it like there?' in seconds, and families plan weekends around places like this.

  6. Saturday · Instagram · Reel

Shoot: The Saturday shop: baskets, the butcher's counter, a till receipt being handed over.

Saturday's our busiest day. Bring a bag, the car park has plenty of room.

Why it works: A busy shop is social proof, and the practical detail about parking removes a reason not to come.

  7. Sunday · Instagram · Photo

Shoot: A simple meal made at home from this week's shop.

What we made with this week's veg box: leek and potato soup, bread from the counter. Boxes are £15, order by Thursday.

Why it works: A finished meal shows the value of the produce, and a clear price and deadline make it easy to order.

What to shoot this week

  • Produce coming in: crates, mud, the field it came from.
  • Local makers and their products, with their permission.
  • The café, the animals, the car park walk: everything that makes it a day out.
  • Seasonal firsts: the first strawberries, the first pumpkins, the Christmas trees arriving.

Questions

What should a farm shop post on social media?

What's in season this week, where it came from and what it's like to visit. Seasonal firsts and local makers give you something new to say every week.

How do I get more people to visit my farm shop?

Show it as a place to spend an hour: the café, the animals, the walk. Post what's in and when you're open, and keep it regular so people think of you at the weekend.

Can Loudwell write a week like this for me?

Yes. Loudwell is a Mac app that plans your week from the photos and clips you already have and writes each caption in your voice. Nothing goes out without your yes on your phone. Solo is £4.99 a month, with 7 days free and no card; your AI provider bills you separately, usually £2 to £4 a month.
