A week of posts for a cocktail bar
Seven posts for a small cocktail bar, one a day, with the photo to take, the caption and why it works. Copy them as they are, or let Loudwell write a week like this from your own photos, in your voice.
You open at five, the good nights don't get going till nine, and the drinks you're proudest of are lit by one bulb in a dark room. Tuesdays are slow and Saturdays are rammed. A week like this gives people a reason to come on the nights you have space.
The week
-
Monday · Instagram · Photo
Shoot: The bar before opening, bottles lit, one stool pulled out, shot from the door.
Mondays we're open at five and it's this quiet. Best night to ask the bartender for something off-menu.
Why it works: Slow nights need a reason, and the off-menu offer makes a quiet bar sound like an inside secret.
-
Tuesday · TikTok · Video
Shoot: Fifteen seconds of one drink being made: the pour, the shake, the strain, the garnish.
The new one: rhubarb, gin, a little vermouth. Took us six versions to get it right.
Why it works: A full build of one drink is the most-watched kind of bar video, and admitting six attempts makes it feel earned.
-
Wednesday · Instagram · Carousel
Shoot: Three cocktails from the new menu side by side, then one close-up of each.
Autumn menu's on. Three new drinks, all under 12. The smoked pear one is the one to try.
Why it works: A menu carousel gets saved for later plans, and naming one favourite makes the choice easy.
-
Thursday · Instagram · Reel
Shoot: Ten seconds of the bartender (ask first) talking through why they like one bottle on the back bar.
Ask Sam about anything on the back shelf. This is the one he'd take home.
Why it works: People choose bars for the people behind them, and a face makes a first visit less daunting.
-
Friday · TikTok · Video
Shoot: The bar filling up on Friday from the end of the counter, sped up from seven to ten.
Seven till ten on a Friday. Walk-ins welcome, but the booths go first.
Why it works: A time-lapse shows the night has energy, and the booth line nudges people to book.
-
Saturday · Instagram · Photo
Shoot: One drink on a coaster by candlelight, with a hand just leaving the glass.
Saturday. Tables for two still free at 6. After nine it's standing only.
Why it works: Telling people when it's calm and when it's busy helps them pick the night they want.
-
Sunday · Instagram · Photo
Shoot: Clean glasses lined up on the bar after close, lights half off.
That's the week. Thank you for every round. Back Tuesday at five.
Why it works: A quiet end-of-week post keeps you in people's feeds without asking them for anything.
What to shoot this week
- One drink being made, start to finish. You'll use the clip all month.
- The bar before opening, when the light is right and nobody is in shot.
- Your bartenders at work, with their permission. People come back for people.
- Anything new on the back shelf. A new bottle is a reason to post.

Questions
How often should a cocktail bar post?
Four or five times a week, with something on the afternoon of your quiet nights. Evening plans get made around four or five, so post then. A steady rhythm matters more than polish.
Which platform is best for a cocktail bar?
Instagram for people choosing where to go tonight, TikTok for drink-making videos that reach people beyond your street. LinkedIn and X won't fill a bar.
How do you photograph drinks in a dark bar?
Shoot before opening, or move the glass under your best light and turn the room lights down around it. Use the phone's normal camera, not night mode, so the colour stays true. Loudwell uses the photos and clips you already have.
Can Loudwell write a week like this for me?
Yes. Loudwell is a Mac app that plans your week from the photos and clips you already have and writes each caption in your voice. Nothing goes out without your yes on your phone. Solo is £4.99 a month, with 7 days free and no card; your AI provider bills you separately, usually £2 to £4 a month.
